Sydney, Australia, 27th February 2020. ConnectX, Australia’s leading integrated marketing solution provider, and Taobao Global, China’s massive and fast-growing consumer community, operated by Alibaba Group Holding Group Limited (“Alibaba Group”) (NYSE:BABA), entered into a strategic partnership to foster further growth and expand service opportunities for Australia and New Zealand made products and global buyers along with establishing a new independent association – Australia – New Zealand Buyers Association (ANBA).
Under the terms of the agreement, ANBA and Taobao Global will collaborate in the areas of B2B and B2C product promotions and integrated supply chain, to bring innovative online Australia & New Zealand products purchasing services to consumers across China.
Before the official announcement made on 27th February 2020, the two companies had already worked out an online campaign between 11th to 14th February on Taobao Global platform. The campaign reached more than 1 million online traffic on Taobao Global and 300k live-streaming audiences, more than 4000 unit of products were sold. Over 10 Australia and New Zealand companies joined the campaign to promote their premium products.
Founded in January 2020, the Australia-New Zealand Buyers Association is an independently-operated ecosystem of Australia and New Zealand brands, buyers and distributors. With the support of Alibaba Group’s Taobao Global, it is committed to facilitating the better and more efficient incubation of AU and NZ brands, supporting buyers in AU and NZ to increase their exposure, and helping Chinese distributors to connect AU and NZ brands more accurately.
The association is membership-based, providing a series of comprehensive services and solutions for member brands, including brand diagnosis, global purchasing activity resources, brand-buyer link-up, brand-distributor link-up, brand exclusive activities and logistics, etc.
