Australia Brands Embrace China Consumption Rebound via Taobao Global Buyers Festival

Alibaba’s premier C2C e-commerce platform Taobao Global is hosting the “Global Buyers’ Festival”(named 全球买手节 in Chinese, which is the biggest festival for Global Merchants on Taobao Marketplace) from 15 July 2020 to 22 July 2020.

Taobao Global buyers, made up of influential merchants in different fields, delve deeply into overseas lifestyles and curate quality overseas products for Chinese consumers.The goal is to celebrate the increasing popularity of imported products among Chinese consumers, especially the younger generation. Tens of millions of types of international products from more than 70 countries and regions, including Korea, Japan, Thailand, Italy, United States, Australia and New Zealand are participating.

To kick off Global Buyers’ Festival, a group of key Taobao Global buyers will go on a 24 hours live streaming activities and introduce products via live streaming to their followers including skincare, beauty, household, baby care and health care products, from the very places where the products originate.According to the platform, twice as many brands will participate in the event as last year.

Australia and New Zealand Theme DayAs a strategic partner with Taobao Global, Australia-New Zealand Buyers Association (ANBA)(owned by ConnectX), is bringing over 50 Australia local brands to tap into China consumption rebound after the post-COVID-19 shutdown.An ANZ-themed promotional campaign will be held on 18th of July, ANZ theme day, on Taobao Marketplace featuring flash sales and product recommendations by Taobao Global buyers.

By working with Taobao Global platform and buyers, ANBA will organise a series of live streaming activities for Taobao Global buyers to curate natural health products direct from the source, and at the same time facilitate the market entry of local SMEs that have the potential to succeed in China.We have chosen Dr. Kangaroo, the symbol of Australia Heath Care Brand Dr. Nature, to join this festival and represent Australia nation.

Dr.Nature has become the main sponsor on Australia and New Zealand Day for this festival.As a Personalize image of Australia, Dr.Kangaroo will broadcast with buyers to promote Australian culture and products and engage directly with consumers in real-time through live streaming sessions.
